After some initial worry, Jack Hughes appears to be ready for the Winter Olympics.
The New Jersey Devils forward is expected to be available for Team USA in the upcoming tournament in Milan, The Athletic's Michael Russo reported Thursday.
Hughes, 24, suffered a lower-body injury on Jan. 29 in a victory over the Nashville Predators.
He's missed the Devils' past two games and has already been ruled out for Thursday's contest against the New York Islanders — the team's last before the Olympic break.
The 24-year-old has 12 goals and 24 assists through 36 games this season. The Devils are seventh in the Metropolitan Division with 58 points.
Hughes will play alongside his brother, Quinn, on Team USA.
The Americans open their Olympic tournament against Latvia on Feb. 12.
